Social Influence

We unpacked how in a world of followers and influencers, how we can stay the ‘Navigator’ of our own lives. We believe that we need to be the navigators and not the influencers because the choices others make might be good for them but have a different outcome for you and if you might be following the wrong people it can get you in the wrong places.

Amorangi and I enjoyed making this because it helped us to understand how to evaluate digital Influencers, peer preasure and social influence and to be safe while partictpating in these things.

Malala Yousafzai Google Video

For Inquiry, I was challenged to create a google vid about my moment in time. For this activity I chose Malala Yousafzai because she caught my attention and would want to learn more information about her. In my DLO, I included what happened, who is she, where did it happen, why did it happen etc, Malala Yousafzai was a survivor who survived when a Taliban leader shot her in the head on the bus station because he said that girls should never be able to educate I enjoyed doing this challenge because I get to show other people about her and share her story.

This week on Thursday Panmure Bridge School had athletics.

We divided into groups and got put in a colour of of Red, Blue , Yellow and Green. I was in Team Green , We went to start our 4 events which is (Shotput , Discus , High Jump and Long Jump.

Each teams came up with a chant so we can support each other whenever were doing our events. After Morning Tea we went to go do High Jump it was so much fun and cool to collaborate with our team mates and fun to jump. The next event we went onto was Long Jump , we splited up into our year groups so it would make it easier for the Kelly sport coaches each boys and girls jump one by one and each jump further than another.

Our secound to last event before we went to Lunch was Shotput , It was a really fun experience to have on athletics day , the Shotput was really heavy but was still managed to throw across the grass. After Lunch our last event was Discus it was hard to throw far but I still had fun we separated into girls and boys and we all started to say our chants out loud and support each girl and boy that was throwing.

Our very last thing we had on was Sprints and Relays , awesome time everybody was so fast and relays was so funny and impressive.

The team who won was : Red

2nd : Blue

3rd : Yellow

4th : Green

Ancient Timekeeping

Li : To explore how our ancestors measured time

for inquiry , we’re looking at how our ancestors told time without clocks. There are three main devices they used: the hourglass, sundial, and clepsydra. We split into groups of three, and each person picked a device to research about.  After discovering lots of cool facts, we made a Google Slides presentation. This activity helped us see how clever people long ago were at telling time. Before modern clocks, they used tools like sundials, water clocks, and hourglasses to figure out what time it was. THese ancient clocks helped make the clocks we use today. It’s amazing to see how things have changed from those early tools to the fancy watches and clocks we have now!

AI movie

LI: To use our knowledge about dinosaurs in creative ways

We were given 2 create challenges to help us show our learning in creative and fun ways.

Create Challenge 1: Use ADOBE Express to generate an image about each dinosaur on your completed sheet. You can not use their name – only the facts you have gathered.

Create Challenge 2: Use https://hailuoai.video to create AI films showing 3 of your dinosaurs in their natural habitat.
